1. Cold Asphalt tends to stick to metal and composite materials, so keep your compactor plate wet with water to prevent adhesion.

​​​ 2. Avoid using diesel on your equipment or near Cold Asphalt, as it negatively affects the material. ​​

​ 3. Cold Asphalt can stick to your shoes while walking on it. To prevent material pickup during compaction, wet the soles of your shoes. ​​

​ 4. Ensure all equipment is fully fueled, serviced, and ready to use to prevent unnecessary delays. ​​
​
​ 5. If the material gets wet or it rains while working, it will not affect the outcome. Continue compacting, as this will displace any water present.

​ ​​ 6. Cold Asphalt cures through air exposure and continuous compaction, the more it is compacted, the faster it will cure to match the existing road surface. ​​
​
​ 7. Avoid turning in place while the material is still curing. However, after proper compaction, traffic will not displace or create ruts in the surface. ​​
​
​ 8. The surfacing layer should not exceed 30mm. If a thicker layer is needed, compact it in 30mm increments. ​​
​
​ 9. If subsidence occurs, the area can be topped up and recompacted. However, recurring failure may indicate issues with the base structure.

​ ​​ 10. In very hot conditions, lightly dust the completed surface with crusher run or similar sand material to absorb excess binder and speed up curing. ​​
​
​ 11. Store unused material in a tightly sealed bag for up to three months. Always follow proper road safety procedures, including correct signage and road closures, when working on roads.
